Dan Walters, President/CEO

Dan Walters founded Copper Harbor Company, Inc. after a career with Chevron Corp. Dan joined Chevron as a refinery engineer in Mississippi and held positions of increasing responsibility. As Manager of Deicing Technology, Dan implemented innovative organization concepts and was instrumental in developing technologies that formed the basis for a new business. His last assignment at Chevron was to bring profitability to brands such as Techron, Supreme, and PRO-GARD as General Manager of the Consumer Products Team. He was also instrumental in re-branding Chevron Gasolines to include Techron and assisted in starting the ‘talking-car’ advertising campaign.

Dan holds multi-national patents in chemical product design, process technology and composition of matter. He has lectured around the world on alternative deicing and bio-chemical technologies and economics. He received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA from Pepperdine University (Presidential/Key Executive Program).

Dan is past-president of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, a current VP for the local Boy Scout council and past-VP for the local Girl Scout council. Additionally, Dan currently serves as the vice-chair for each of Calidad Industries (Goodwill), Chabot College Foundation and the San Leandro Transporation Management Organization, and serves as a director of the Alameda County Workforce Investment Board and California Collaboration for Youth.

Chris Rose, Operations Manager

Chris joined Copper Harbor in 2017 after working as an engineering project manager in sheet metal manufacturing for the automotive industry. As EPM, Chris completed projects that implemented LEAN manufacturing principles and automation to increase revenue and improve profitability for all stakeholders. After serving 5 years in the U.S Marine Corps he received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University.


Ken Smith, Engineering Manager

Ken Smith joined Copper Harbor after an extensive and varied career in engineering, plant design and operations, including BART and Thomas Kinkade. Ken holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
